ABOUT

Robin Hill has been family farmed since 1955, passing down its legacy and traditions through the generations. We share a strong love for faith, family, friends, and farming. With an agricultural history of tobacco, hogs, nursery, pumpkins, agritourism, and now vineyards, we strive to successfully sustain our farm and share its bounty.

OUR HISTORY

Our family farm was purchased in 1955 by Russell and Shirley Watson. Through the years Russell inspired his family to evolve the farm with the times.

Farming Philosophy

From the very beginning it’s been a priority for us to ensure that our farm, crops, animals, and environment are well taken care of. As farmers, we make our living from the land and it’s precious to us. As local Southern Marylanders, we also come from a long line of watermen, and are fortunate to have grown up on the Patuxent River. Since the land and the river are so important to us, we have always strived for a sustainable model. Using this philosophy, we have farmed in a manner that has sustained the land, helped the various agricultural businesses to thrive, and has allowed over four generations to stay on the farm.
Our farm has been inducted into the Maryland Governor’s Agricultural Hall of Fame, has been awarded the Soil Conservation Farm of the Year twice, and has also been presented with the Prince George’s County Small Business of the Year award; all partially owing to our work in improving our farm to be as environmentally friendly as possible. We have a comprehensive soil conservation & water quality plan, work closely with our county soil conservation district, and have implemented industry recognized agricultural Best Management Practices.
Our farm and business are our family’s legacy, which is why we care so much about the quality of our land, our vines, and our wines. We hope you get a chance to come visit us down on the farm, and to enjoy it as much as we do. Cheers!
